The Dass family arrives in Canada in the search of new opportunities and opens their flagship electronics store, Teletime, at Yonge & Dundas Square in Downtown Toronto.
In just two short years, Teletime expanded to five locations throughout the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Building upon their success, the Dass family, led by patriarch Jay Dass, begins making savvy investments in Toronto real estate.
With a growing real estate portfolio, JDass Corp launches a hospitality division with the construction of a new banquet hall and event space in Brampton, Ontario.
JDass Corp spent the early 2000’s expanding this part of their business with the construction of two new facilities, Woodbine Hotel and Woodbine Banquet Hall.
JDass Corp continues to leverage substantial land holdings by developing dozens of industrial and commercial properties across the GTA.
Over the next decade, JDass will take advantage of the booming Canadian real estate industry and evolve into a construction and land development powerhouse.
JDass Corp sets its sights on a new venture, expanding into the world of steel and metal products. Dass Metal Products is founded on a tenet of “second to none service”.
With aggressive investment in cutting-edge technology, an exceptional team, and a state-of-the-art 100,000 sf steel service centre, Dass Metal Products grows into top player in the industry.
In 2022, Dass Metal Products expanded again with two new divisions; Dass Steel Service Centre and Dass Rebar.
With the acquisitions of Mississauga Convention Centre and Shanty Bay Golf Club, JDass Corp has solidified its presence in the hospitality and leisure sectors. Building on this momentum, the successful launches of Quick Scrap Metal, Food World Supermarket and Skye Hotel & Residences have further showcased our commitment to excellence and innovation.
With exciting new ventures such as J.Dass Distillery and a variety of e-commerce and brick-and-mortar businesses set to launch, the future at JDass Corp has never been brighter. We are also proud to welcome our team to a state-of-the-art corporate headquarters as we continue to grow and thrive.
